What We Do
Forest Health Management
Montana Wildfire Mitigation strives to help the members of our community establish healthy, sustainable forests on their lands. We can assist you in this process by inventorying the tree species on your property, creating a land management plan and determining the potential value of your resources.
Hazardous Fuel Reduction
Fires have been suppressed for so long that its benefits have turned disastrous. Instead of ground fires passing through our forests and clearing out debris and small trees, it now has access to the canopies of mature trees via ladder fuels.
We will determine the density of ladder fuels and hazardous fuel loading and come up with a plan to remove these fuels creating a more resilient forest.
Wildfire Risk Assessment
Montana Wildfire Mitigation will utilize our professional experience and training to assess your land and identify the potential risks a wildfire may pose to the values on your property.
Additional Information
Grant funding is available to landowners in Missoula County seeking hazardous fuel reduction. Typically, funding can cover half the cost of a project greatly assisting landowners financially. More information about these organizations can be found under the Local Organizations tab above.
Additionally, any profits from timber sales can be used to subsidize the cost of forestry work. Contact Montana Wildfire Mitigation for any questions regarding timber inventory and value.
